Top Ranking on Search Engine Result Pages

Ranking Position guarantee in search engine organic result pages is a Gimmick, isn’t it? What else you promise to demanding clients?

Noone can guarantee a particular position or ranking for a web site for any given keyword phrase as nobody can control too many relevant factors and moreover search engines are changing their ranking algorithms regularly, efforts are being made by your competitor websites, and also new sites being added to the Web. For the SEO result, we can delivery the results to clients in many ways, it depends on objectives. We can prove the result via Organic result. We can show to client how many percentage of visits came from Organic and how potentially growth of traffic from keywords, also we can define keywords into Brand keywords and Non-Brand Keywords which reflect the result in different ways. For measurement the keywords, we can show in different metrics in keyword level, for example : bounce rate, average time stay on site, lead conversion rate, and sales.

I disagree a bit with the post above that they can be guaranteed for terms that aren’t competitive. It’s still dependant on Google. Although there’s a very high likelihood that you will be successful that still falls short of a guarantee.

In any case it helps no-one to guarantee rankings. Quite apart from the fact that it’s misleading, I would imagine it would adversely affect the SEO company’s business as well.

Assuming the client does actually Google to find, research and/or select an SEO company (which let’s face it, is pretty likely) they’re bound to find out two things fairly quickly – (a) that no-one can guarantee rankings and (b) that not all SEO companies use white hat / ethical techniques (and of course the pitfalls of using black hat).

Putting 2 + 2 together they may well dismiss any SEO companies that do guarantee rankings as being potential users of black hat techniques. It doesn’t actually matter if they’re right or wrong. What matters is that you’ve lost a potential client.

All of course hypothetical and based only on my own experiences – but quite possible.

If you are are into SEO services and promising your client Top 10 ranking guarantee for particular keywords, surely you are cheating him. certainly those who are honest businessmen will never cheat their customers. Also the awareness should be generated among customers about this, Since Google continuously changes its algorithm, so no one should promise such things, however there are few things which we can surely promise to our customers
*Increase traffic to their website, which in turn reflect in their Page rank
    * Increase the visibility of the website for particular keywords, which in turn reflect your ranking in Search engine results
    * Help developing sustainable web presence to the clients
    * Increase the possibility of unique visitors to your website…

I agree, No one can guarantee a particular position. However Rankings can be manipulated using certain techniques. There are many businesses using ‘SEO’ Search Engine Optimisation companies, who are not delivering what they have promised, due to Google Algorithm changes, lack of knowledge especially in relation to the new customised search and simply because they have jumped on the band wagon.

Companies need to move away from the term ‘SEO’ that is being sold to them. They need to invest in a wider marketing approach, such as PR, Social Marketing, and Blogging etc. Rankings will come in time and do not happen overnight, the key is to invest in a company that offers the whole package such as ourselves, and remember (SEO) search engine optimisation is a small part of that package.

Exactly, ranking position can not be guaranteed. Many SEO firms or so called SEO experts claim they can guarantee a ranking but last time I checked, nobody has Google’s search algorithm. Without knowing the exact algorithm, how can any company legitimately guarantee rankings?

With that being said, there are many things a company can do to improve the potential for increasing position. Are they guaranteed? No. Will they help? Definitely. For example, we were able to accomplish the following for one of our clients:

    • Improved total website traffic by 163%
    • Improved the number of unique visitors by 207%
    • Improved traffic coming from referral sites by 234%
    • Improved the number of landing pages in which users entered the site by 120%
    • Improved the number of page views by 146%
    • Placed 24 keywords on the search engines radar that were not previously ranking

    1. IT DEPENDS.

    2. RANKING ALONE ISN’T REALLY A BUSINESS OBJECTIVE ANYWAY

    let’s take point #1 first:

for terms with consistently weak SEO competition, it certainly is possible to guarantee a high ranking.

even for terms with medium competition, as long as you’re continuously putting out valuable content that others around the web continuously value and therefore continuously share/link to, you can retain high rankings regardless of algorithm changes. in fact, as ranking algorithms improve, the likelihood of ranking even higher can only increase.

    now for point #2:

of course, ranking for ranking’s sake has no value unless it delivers value to the client’s business. you may wish to modify your value proposition to clients by avoiding the SEO ranking issue altogether and just tell them you are going to drive more qualified leads to their website or drive more sales or conversions, etc.

in reality, this is where the true business value lies.

then you achieve these goals by a combination of SEO, social media engagement, SEM and other internet marketing techniques. this way, even if the client’s site doesn’t rank well for targeted terms (especially if the terms are highly competitive), you can still hit home runs for the client.

    hope this is useful,

    jeff

I make it very clear to clients, including in my contracts, that there are many factors outside of my control, and while I will do my best, there is no guarantee they will rank highly for all of the search terms they want to rank for, or within a short period of time.

It really comes down to being realistic, honest, and managing client expectations. I personally follow the code of ethics developed by Bruce Clay

Also, you can read below the position of the SEOconsutlants Directory about “ranking guarantees” In short, they will not list any SEO firm or consultant who offers a rankings guarantee.

The guarantee is most certainly a gimmick, and yet it is not. I for example could guarantee that you would be on the first page if you follow a series of routines to the letter for six months to a year.

It takes a lot of hard work. You have understand that search engine success has three main qualifiers: POSITION, PENETRATION, SATURATION.

POSITION: You want one of the top 30 coveted spots in Google, you need to be worth, simple as that. You need to establish an online identity within social media and blogs and be active. You need to own a website property of your own and populate it with relevant content. You need to comment on websites and blogs with similar content. As a result of all these factors and the traffic and linking building involved in this strategy you will become worthy of a top tier Google Position.

PENETRATION: Its not enough to merely be in the top rankings of Google. Being listed once in the first 3 pages doesn’t lend nearly as much creditability as taking up half o the first page, or all of it. Expanding your online presence and level of activity will help with this dramatically. Links back from popular sites and or blogs is going to be key.

    SATURATION:
Saturation is going to come down to you having results not only in web, but image, video and the other search. Producing content that is viable across multiple search types is important and will lend to your creditability.

All that being said if someone is GUARANTEEING you organic results, its a short lived scam that will end you in you being black list. High ranking organic results is a route of long, suffering, hard work, efficiency, or excellent staffing.
